Being Normal/Unhinged Mind

Coming from a background in art, meeting William he was seemingly normal having ideas that were common in my appreciation of appealing paintings, sculptures, and drawings.  I've made an effort to help him share many of his pieces that can be looked at with a pleasant perception.

As humans our love of animals is shared universally.  Art and other forms of entertainment that represent sweet little critters just makes us feel good.  Our enjoyment of cuteness is one that Disney and other movie makers capitalize on capturing the attention of kids and adults alike.  Tons of precious kitten and puppy videos are shared and "liked" all over the internet everyday.  We can't get enough!

We also see great beauty in colorful images of nature like flowers and trees.  We place value on certain works that express and bring forth warm fuzzy feelings for us.

However, there are times that I'm snapped into another realm with unsettled feelings by the finding of one of William's works in progress!

LIKE THIS ONE:

Disclaimer:  While this may look like the beginning of a creation of a unhinged mind, I still think (hope) William is normal.

But then again, there's this:

And let's not forget this:

Of course, if you are like me and have great memories of watching Mad Max with your Dad this one is absolutely delightful!

So yes, movie makers also figured out how to take advantage of those alarming feelings we get from images wavering on unhinged.

Please know this blog was written by William's wife (that's me) all in FUN!

If you enjoy visiting and seeing some of the pieces, please follow William Kimmons Art on Facebook and check back for updates!

Exhibit

Two of William Kimmons Art works will be on display during the St. Louis Business Expo at the Valley Park Welding Exhibit.

One is custom made signage created for Valley Park Welding and demonstrates the excellent work the business produces.

The other can been found in the left hand corner of the pic and is a piece William named "Gear Freak" inspired by recycled tractor parts creating a look of mechanical gear apparatus motion. It contains a mix of steam punk, industrial, and fantasy art.

A tidbit about Fantasy art:

Fantasy art based on classic mythology has been a staple of European art since the Renaissance period.  Today there is a rise in the popularity of fantasy art based on modern mythology such as JRR Tolkien's Middle Earth including the recent "Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" movies inspired by the books.  Fantastic creatures including dragons are some of the Kimmons household favorites!
